Registered Acupuncture, Cosmetic Acupuncture, Yoga
Elizabeth Rayson is a Registered Acupuncturist (R.Ac) with the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture of Ontario (CTCMPAO), and has been a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) with the Yoga Alliance since 2003.
Elizabeth’s interest in holistic healing began early in life. Her chronic respiratory, digestive and immune issues throughout childhood were treated only through symptom management, without addressing the underlying causes. It was only after discovering holistic approaches to healing in adulthood (such as meditation, yoga, acupuncture and herbal medicine) that she began to truly heal.
Elizabeth offers a partnership through which clients are supported in feeling responsible for and empowered about their health. Through this partnership, the long-standing factors that underlie the true cause of disease are addressed. In many cases these can relate to diet and lifestyle. Sometimes long-standing stressors and traumas have created patterns that are very hard to alter without support.
Treatments with Elizabeth begin with a comprehensive assessment in which the underlying patterns that may be inhibiting the body’s natural healing capacity are evaluated. Elizabeth uses acupuncture, nutrition and lifestyle recommendations to create a pathway toward healing. In addition, Elizabeth’s 14 years of experience teaching Hatha yoga allows her to integrate the principles and practices of the rich Yoga tradition into her treatments. Areas of particular interest are women’s health (particularly perimenopause and menopause-related concerns), mental/emotional issues and digestive health.
Elizabeth is also certified in Mei Zen Cosmetic Acupuncture, a gentle, safe and effective way to improve the skin’s tone, resilience and appearance. Mei Zen balances the Qi and Blood of the body, leading to increased health and vitality that is naturally expressed in the skin — without the use of harsh chemicals or surgical techniques.
